Even when you love to do something, why is it so hard to get yourself to do it? There's this weird chasm between what we want to do that we know is good for us and what we end up doing even when we know it's bad for us. This episode explores just that. Show notes and more at brianahansen.com

You've probably heard the phrase "it's not a sprint, it's a marathon." If you've heard it a lot, you've likely rolled your eyes at it because it's often not what you want to hear when you want results quickly and efficiently. But the truth is, anything worthwhile is worth working and waiting for. And there's no better metaphor than the marathon (well, maybe there is but that's what we're using here). We dig into how I was reminded of this very fact during some recent auditions in this episode. Show notes and more at brianahansen.com

There are times we have to put our head down and do the work. It's not pretty. There's no glory. And, very likely, there's little validation. In fact, the more time you spend seeking validation for doing the work, the less effective you'll be at focusing and doing the actual work. So you just do it because you said you would. And you do it because you know that you need to, even if and when you don't want to. That's what we talk about in this episode, friends.
